Abstract

|
Intrathoracic esophageal anastomotic leak or fistula after esophageal surgery is often associated with poor results and carries a major mortality and morbidity. Stent therapy is established as a palliative treatment for esophageal stenosis or leakage patients. We achieved successful results without the need for reoperation in a case of post operative esophageal leakage due to diverticulum and leiomyoma using an esophageal stent.
